Yiping Ruan

Data Scientist, Singapore

I work as a data scientist at T2 and am developing AI and ML tools to provide customers with insights into their operational activities. I have known the company's founders for some years, having worked with them as a developer before pursuing a master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the National University of Singapore. My job here allows me to put into practice some of the aspects of artificial intelligence development that I learned at NUS.

I believe AI can have a major impact on supply chain management and customer experience. The team here has developed great ideas that I am trying to deliver as enterprise solutions.

It was a always dream of mine to join a start-up company like Tucson, a company that allows to use many different skills. I joined the company as covid was taking hold around the world which has made hiring the team even more challenging than normal.

I have now spent more than a year with Tucson as the company’s People Manager. It has been an excellent journey since then, full of learning, shaping me into a better professional. I joined Tucson in 2021 with no background in enterprise software and limited experience of the logistics industry. The team was immediately welcoming and very patient with me as I worked my way through the initial training. We are an incredibly diverse team, both culturally and geographically and I had some very early morning starts as my mentor was based in Singapore, while I work from Toulouse in southwest France.

Sales

If you have experience in enterprise software sales, we need you! We are looking for team members who know how to close deals with large customers. We currently have opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, the UK, the Nordic region and in central Europe.

Development

Tucson’s principle software development centre is in Hyderabad, India. The company also had development teams in the US, France and Singapore. There are opportunities for experienced developers in all locations and also for remote working. Tucson’s T2 Labs future solutions centre is working on the development of the application of AI and ML technologies to supply chain and logistics solutions. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in these sectors or from PhD candidates for roles in Toulouse, France, or Singapore.

Operations

The operations team is responsible for ensuring that our customers gain the maximum value from working with our applications. Our Customer Success/Customer Help team is the outward face of Tucson. Applicants should have an understanding of the logistics operations gained from either carrier or shipper and a good level of technology literacy. The principle operations centre is at our head office in Ashford, Kent, but staff can also work out of offices in Singapore, Toulouse or San Francisco.
